Road Encounter

Mia had her after dinner walk with me today and we saw s turtle. It was such a treat since most of the time we only saw ants and bees. She wad so excited she made me walk back to get daddy and the camera. Mike obliged. When we got there, mike picked up the turtle for Mia to touch. The turtle went hiding in the shell. Mike moved him from the road to the grass so he would not be hit by a car. For Mia daddy was the superhero who saved the day.

Mia's Swimming Lesson

We signed up Mia for swimming this summer. I haven't been able to go except today. She seems to enjoy it and make progress since last year.

Mia's summer favorite & Baby Update

Just like me, Mia loves watermelon. It's been over 90 degrees and it's the best time for watermelons. Today she was eating from the watermelon "bowl" on her own. She's getting pretty good at spoon and fork.

BTW, I passed the three hour GTT test so I don't have gestational diabetes. However I still crave for sweets. I really need to watch myself for the next seven months. At 33 weeks, baby girl weighs about 5 lbs and is at 78%. The ultrasound picture shows her with eyes wide open which was never the caxe with Mia. Unfortunately she has her arm blocking part of the face so I could only see one eye and it's difficult to tell whether she looks like Mike or me more.

Mia's New Room

The new bedroom furniture arrived last weekend and the new mattress this weekend. I put up purple decals to decorate Mia's new room. Purple is her favorite color. Our plan is to graduate her from the baby's room to the new room. To welcome her into the transition, I decided to put up some paintings. I bought some canvas and did some Youtube search on oil painting. Friday night I sketched and modified the outlines on the canvas. Saturday I spent two hours doing my first oil painting project. Too bad I did not know I needed linseed oil to thin the oil so I don't quite have different depth and shades of the colors but the paintings turned out to fine. For me it was quite a therapeutic session. I really enjoyed it. After I was done, I could not wait for them to dry. They were on the wall immediately for my instant gratification. Mia ended up touching one of the birds and smeared it a little bit.
